Job summary

Precision Steel Services in Toledo, OH is seeking a Material Handler to move, stage, organize, package, and prepare material throughout production and shipping. This hands-on role supports the entire operation by keeping material flowing and orders on schedule.

You will operate forklifts, load/unload trucks, stage material, package orders, and ensure accurate documentation while maintaining safe, clean work areas. Strong attention to detail and reliability are essential.

Qualifications

• Forklift operation experience required.
• Material handling, warehouse, shipping, receiving, or industrial experience required.
• Ability to safely move, stage, stack, and organize material.
• Able to stand, walk, bend, lift, and carry material as needed.
• Strong attention to safety, detail, and organization.
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
• Ability to follow instructions and communicate clearly.
• Ability to work overtime, including weekends when required.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts and material handling equipment to move steel, parts, pallets, skids, and supplies.
• Load and unload trucks while verifying material and order requirements.
• Stage material for production, storage, shipping, or the next operation.
• Package customer orders for shipment, including wrapping, banding, securing, labeling, and organizing material.
• Prepare outgoing orders so they are clean, labeled, protected, and customer-ready.
• Count pieces, verify tags, complete basic paperwork, and support accurate documentation.
• Store materials and supplies in proper locations to support organization and production flow.
• Keep staging and work areas clear so production and shipping do not stall.
• Use safe lifting, stacking, and material handling practices.
• Communicate material shortages, delays, order issues, damage, or safety concerns early.
• Maintain clean, safe work areas and clear travel paths.
