Job summary

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tampa Bay is seeking a Program Specialist (Match Support) to supervise and coach Big/Little matches in alignment with BBBSA and BBBBSTB standards. You will work with volunteers, children, and families to ensure high-quality matches and strong safety protocols.

The role emphasizes conducting match meetings, monitoring outcomes, and maintaining risk management practices across in-person and remote interactions. Previous experience in child welfare is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human service, social work, counselling, child development or related field or near completion
• Associate degree or two years of higher education in related field plus two years of related work experience
• Four years of relevant work experience in related fields, with experience in both child and adult populations preferred

Responsibilities

• Supervise, support, and coach Big/Little matches according to BBBSA/BBBSTB standards and policies
• Conduct introductory match meetings between volunteers and children at homes, schools, sites, virtually, or in the community
• Identify and address child safety issues for volunteers, children, and families
• Monitor volunteer yield, processing time, and match closure/retention to improve outcomes
