Job summary

Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Luis Obispo County (SLO Bigs) seeks a Program & Match Specialist to support site-based mentoring, recruit and match mentors, and uphold child safety. You’ll develop curricula with the Program Director and engage schools and community partners to grow impactful mentoring programs.

The ideal candidate is organized, positive, and passionate about youth development, with strong public speaking and facilitation abilities and a commitment to serving underrepresented

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human services, child development, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience in mentoring, youth services, or program coordination is preferred.
• Strong public speaking, group facilitation, and partner engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement curricula for school mentoring programs.
• Support enrollment, interviews, screening, training, and matching volunteers.
• Manage mentorship matches and provide regular in-person or virtual support.
• Maintain records in Salesforce and ensure child safety compliance.
• Represent the agency in community partnerships and program recruitment.
• Supervise interns and volunteers and assist with program improvement.
