Job summary

Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino Lake Tahoe is seeking a Host to greet guests, guide them to tables, and provide exceptional service from arrival to departure. You will maintain menu knowledge, upsell daily specials, and support servers with running food and delivering drinks.

The role requires strong interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment; fluency in English is essential and flexibility across shifts is expected.

Qualifications

• 1 year of restaurant experience preferred.

Overview

A Host is the first point of contact for guests and is responsible for presenting exceptional customer service to ensure the guests’ first impression of the restaurant is a positive one.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome guests as they arrive at the restaurant with a genuine smile and positive attitude.
• Engage with guests, anticipate their needs, and respond promptly to any inquiries or concerns.
• Maintain knowledge of the menu, daily specials, and restaurant promotions to provide accurate information to guests.
• Handle guest complaints or issues professionally or bring them to the manager when necessary.
• Assist with running food, delivering and/or refilling guests’ drinks.
• Guide guests to their tables and present them with menus.
• Take to-go orders over the phone and in person.
• Engage with guests to ensure they're happy with food and service.
• Refill drinks and clear plates as needed during guest’s dining experience.
• Provide great customer service.
• Provide highchairs and other requested items to the guest.
• Responsibilities include complying with all federal and state laws, including the FLSA tip regulations regarding tip reporting, sharing, and minimum wage requirements.
