Job summary

Tom James Custom Clothing in Eden Prairie, MN is looking for a full-time seamstress/tailor or master tailor who can deliver meticulously finished garments with careful attention to detail. The role requires working in a fast-paced office and involves 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities include performing alterations on high-end garments, ensuring proper sizing, and maintaining production records while delivering on time. Background checks may apply, and E-Verify participates.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of tailoring experience in a retail or customer-service environment.
• Strong working knowledge of garment construction in men's and women's apparel and ability to perform high-quality workmanship including hand and by machine.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Self-starter

Responsibilities

• Make adjustments to men’s and women’s suits, shirts, coats, blazers, dresses, and trousers.
• Shorten/lengthen sleeves
• Taper sides of garments
• Lower collars
• Take in/out trousers waist
• Take in/out seat and rise on pants
• Shorten/lengthen trousers
• Taper trouser thighs and foot widths
• Ensure proper sizing of clients
• Manages all interactions with professionalism
• Tracks detailed alteration production daily
• Performs alterations on all garments submitted for alteration, presses finished garment, removes threads, and completes for client-ready
• Completes all work promptly to ensure customer delivery date
• Maintains a clean work environment and maintains all required paperwork related to daily assignments
