Job summary

Tom James Custom Clothing in Burlingame, CA seeks a part-time Seamstress/Tailor or Master Tailor who delivers high-end garments with meticulous attention to detail. The role requires the ability to work quickly in a fast-paced office environment and 24 weekly hours at an hourly rate of $29.

Responsibilities include alterations to men's and women's garments, ensuring proper sizing, finishing garments professionally, and maintaining accurate daily production records for client-ready pieces.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years tailoring experience in a retail or customer-service environment.
• Knowledge of garment construction for men's and women's apparel.
• Ability to perform high-quality workmanship including hand and by machine.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail and self-starter with multitasking ability.

Responsibilities

• Make alterations to suits, shirts, coats, blazers, dresses, and trousers.
• Adjust sleeve length, taper sides, lower collars, and alter waist/seat.
• Ensure proper sizing and professional interaction with clients.
• Track daily alteration production and press finished garments.
• Complete work promptly to meet customer delivery dates.
• Maintain a clean work area and required daily paperwork.
