Responsibilities include tailoring a wide range of garments, ensuring precise alterations, and delivering client-ready results. The position offers room for growth based on experience and performance, with a competitive starting wage and DOE.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years tailoring experience in a retail or customer-service environment.
• Knowledge of garment construction for men's and women's apparel; ability to perform high-quality workmanship by hand and by machine.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Make adjustments to suits, shirts, coats, blazers, dresses, and trousers.
• Shorten/lengthen sleeves; taper sides; lower collars.
• Take in/out waist, seat, and rise; shorten/lengthen trousers; taper thigh and foot widths.
• Ensure proper sizing and deliver client-ready garments on time.
• Maintain a clean work environment and complete required daily paperwork.

Tom James Custom Clothing sales office in Eden Prairie, MN is seeking a full‑time Seamstress/Tailor or Master Tailor who excels in his or her trade and possesses a talent for delivering the finest tailored clothing with excellent attention to detail.

Employees must be able to work quickly in a fast‑paced office environment. Weekly hours for this position are 40. Compensation for this position starts at $27+ DOE (depending on experience).

Tailor Job Summary

Performs alterations as directed for our clients' high‑end garments and delivers professionally finished garments on time.

Demonstrates knowledge of fabric and standard tailoring concepts and procedures with quality workmanship for men's and women's garments.

Tailor Job Responsibilities and Duties

To make adjustments to men’s and women’s suits, shirts, coats, blazers, dresses, and trousers. Included, but not limited to:

• Shorten/lengthen sleeves
• Taper sides of garments
• Lower collars
• Take in/out trousers waist
• Take in/out seat and rise on pants
• Shorten/lengthen trousers
• Taper trouser thighs and foot widths
• Ensure proper sizing of clients
• Manages all interactions with professionalism
• Tracks detailed alteration production daily
• Performs alterations on all garments submitted for alteration, presses finished garment, removes threads, and completes for client‑ready
• Completes all work promptly to ensure customer delivery date
• Maintains a clean work environment and maintains all required paperwork related to daily assignments

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of tailoring experience in a retail or customer‑service environment
• Strong working knowledge of garment construction in men's and women's apparel and ability to perform high‑quality workmanship including hand and by machine
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Self‑starter
• Able to perform multiple tasks efficiently with a strong organization of time
