Job summary

Tom James Custom Clothing in San Antonio, TX seeks a skilled Seamstress/Tailor or Master Tailor to deliver the finest tailored garments with exceptional attention to detail. This is a fully on-site position with 40 hours weekly and piece-rate compensation.

Responsibilities include alterations for high-end garments, timely delivery, and maintaining quality workmanship with knowledge of fabric and garment construction for both men and women.

Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of tailoring experience in a retail or customer-service environment.
Strong working knowledge of garment construction in men's and women's apparel and ability to perform high-quality workmanship including hand and by machine.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Self-starter and able to perform multiple tasks with good time management.

Responsibilities

Adjusts suits, shirts, coats, blazers, dresses, and trousers for men and women.
Shortens/lengthens sleeves; tapers sides; lowers collars.
Takes in/out waist, seat, and rise on pants; shortens/lengthens trousers.
Tapers thigh and foot widths; ensures proper sizing for clients.
Maintains professional interactions and tracks daily alteration production.
Delivers finished garments on time; presses and trims.
