Job summary

Tom James Custom Clothing in New Providence, NJ is seeking a part-time Seamstress/Tailor or Master Tailor who delivers meticulous, high-end alterations with strong attention to detail. This fast-paced office environment requires quick, precise work across garments for men and women.

Hours are 16-24 per week with pay starting at $21.00–$24.00 per hour based on experience. Responsibilities include tailoring adjustments, pressing, and ensuring on-time delivery.

Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of tailoring experience in a retail or customer-service environment.
Strong working knowledge of garment construction in men's and women's apparel and ability to perform high-quality workmanship including hand and by machine.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Self-starter; able to perform multiple tasks efficiently with good time management.

Responsibilities

Make adjustments to men's and women's suits, shirts, coats, blazers, dresses, and trousers.
Perform alterations on all garments submitted for alteration; press finished garment and remove threads.
Track detailed alteration production daily and ensure customer delivery dates are met.
Maintain a clean work environment and all required daily paperwork.
