Job summary

Vector Security in Melbourne, FL is seeking a Master Systems Technician to install and service integrated systems and lead projects. You will troubleshoot, design, and ensure compliance with local codes. Strong mentoring and leadership skills are required to guide a team of technicians.

Education includes a high school diploma, state licensing, and preferred ESA Level 2 and NICET Fire Level 2 certifications. Travel to sites is common with on-the-road responsibilities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; valid driver’s license required.
• 7+ years industry experience preferred with 5+ years in fire detection and signaling systems.
• State licensing and relevant certifications preferred: ESA Level 2, NICET Fire Level 2.

Responsibilities

• Install and service integrated systems and special projects.
• Troubleshoot systems in high-end residential and commercial applications.
• Lead design and deployment of projects per building codes and AHJs.
• Demonstrate proficiency in software and programming for primary manufacturers.
• Provide guidance and training to technicians and share best practices.

Summary:

As a Master Systems Technician, you will be responsible for installation and/or servicing ofintegrated systemsand special projects.Additionalresponsibilities include astrong technical aptitude, ability todecipher/design integrated systems in compliancewith localjurisdictionrequirements, andeffective interpersonal skills. Willassistintraining ofless experienced technicians.Provides guidance and leadership to others to ensure best practices are used.

What You’ll Do:

• Install/service integrated systems and special projects:
  • Complete system installations and/or servicing ofvarious typesofadvanced level ofintegratedburg, card access, video, and fire alarm system, as well as special projects.
  • Troubleshoot integrated systems inhigh endresidential and commercial applications.
  • Leadthedesign and deployment of projects in concert with local and state building codes and communicate effectively with AHJs.
  • Demonstrateproficiencyandunderstanding of the software and programming for the primary manufacturers used by branch.
  • Employ logic and experience to work through system and integrated system issues.
  • Demonstrate advanced networking skillsand communicate with other IT professionals.
  • Interact and communicate at all levels of the organization and with external customers. Share knowledge, ideas, and solutions.
• Train and mentor technicians:
  • Review work of Entry Level through Level 3 technicians on shared job sire and provide training to correct any errors.
  • Responsible for the work done by all technicians on his/her jobs.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to ensure best practices are used.

What You’ll Need:

• Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 7+yearsindustry experience - preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of fire detection and signaling systems experience.
• Certification/License:
  • State licensing is required.
  • Mustposses a valid driver’s license.
  • ESA Level 2 and NICET Fire level 2 - preferred.
  • Completion of minimum training/certification checklist required per Technician Career Path OR equivalent experience and demonstrated expertise.
• Communication:
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with various individuals in a professional manner in order to provide superior customer service.
• Technical:
  • Proficient in design of integrated systems. Proficient in software and programming for the primary manufacturers used by their home branch.
