Job summary

360X Staffing is seeking an experienced Stick Welder for a barge repair project on the Mississippi River waterfront in Hartford, IL. You will weld using 5/32" 6011 and 5/32" 7018 on carbon steel, performing vertical up and overhead lap welds on 3/8" plate to ensure durability and safety.

Ideal candidates will pass a lap weld test (3F Uphill, 4F) and work well in a skilled team of welders and fabricators in a demanding maritime environment. Overtime is available Monday–Saturday.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Stick Welder with 5/32" 6011 and 5/32" 7018 electrodes on carbon steel.
• Welding in lap or 3F/up and 4F positions with quality control and visual inspection.
• Experience on maritime/barge repair projects is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding operations using 5/32" 6011 and 5/32" 7018 to pass vertical up and overhead lap welds on 3/8" plate.
• Produce precise, consistent welds meeting weld-quality standards and continuity.
• Collaborate with welders, fabricators, and repair specialists to ensure structural integrity of barges.
• Adhere to safety protocols and maritime welding best practices.
