Job summary

Express Saint Louis is seeking an experienced welder to design, fabricate, repair, and maintain metal sheet structures on rigs, ships, and barges. The role emphasizes stick welding in demanding industrial and marine environments and requires reading blueprints, work orders, and schedules.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of stick welding experience.
• Experience in shipyards, marine, or heavy industrial environments preferred.
• Ability to read measurements and perform basic math.
• Strong attention to detail and safety.

Responsibilities

• Weld metal components to repair or fabricate parts for crane buckets, ship holds, barges, and industrial equipment.
• Read blueprints, work orders, and production schedules.
• Inspect, measure, test, and adjust welds and components to specifications.
• Set up, clamp, align, and fit metal parts prior to welding.
• Operate welding machines, torches, grinders, and related tools.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and complete required documentation.
