Job summary

ACT Power Services is seeking a Solar Master Technician to perform safe, productive repairs and maintenance of Commercial and Utility Scale Solar PV plants. You will handle preventative maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs to maximize production and ensure safety of personnel and communities.

This role encompasses maintenance on solar modules, strings, trackers, and inverters, with opportunities to learn and apply industry best practices while contributing to a clean energy

Qualifications

• Familiarity with electrical systems and components.
• Proficiency in using power tools for repairs.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics accurately.
• Proficiency with MS Office suite.
• Ability to take direction and complete tasks with minimal oversight.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
• Experience with OSHA 1910, NFPA 70E, and 70B preferred.
• Willingness to travel and work on-call including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Uphold a high level of safety standards in everything you do.
• Conducting routine preventive maintenance, service, troubleshooting and repair of solar photovoltaic facilities.
• Willingness to learn the NEC code, electrical theory, and industry best practices.
• DC and AC testing including polarity, open circuit voltage, grounding continuity, communication, insulation resistance testing, I-V curve tracing.
• Interpret schematics to understand system layouts and connections.
• Maintain a schedule for routine maintenance, service, trouble shooting and repair of equipment at solar facilities including trackers, inverters, transformers, disconnects.
• Maintaining company property and supply inventory.
• Provide maintenance and troubleshooting training to technicians and others as needed.
• Identify safety hazards and take appropriate action to remove hazards.
