Job summary

Vertiv in Austin, TX is seeking a skilled Master Production Scheduler to lead the creation and maintenance of the master production schedule. The role requires balancing forecast, inventory targets, and customer requirements to ensure on-time delivery.

You will collaborate with production control, operations, procurement, and sales to resolve schedule issues and optimize material flow. Ideal candidates have strong analytics, Excel proficiency, and experience with ERP/MRP systems.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of production scheduling, capacity planning, inventory management and supply chain operations in manufacturing.
  • Proven ability to develop and manage master production schedules balancing demand, inventory targets and capacity.
  • Analytical, problem-solving, data-driven decision making.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office.
  • Strong written and verbal communication for cross-functional collaboration.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the master production schedule based on forecast, inventory objectives, and customer requests.
  • Review and ensure that the production requirement dates and customer delivery schedules are in sync.
  • Highlight significant issues of delayed customer shipments, production problems, inventory shortages, and current status to management daily.
  • Coordinate solutions to schedule issues with production control and operations to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Utilize forecasting techniques to manage manufacturing contracts with key customers on high volume products.
  • Facilitate daily production meetings to supply information on material status and ship dates.
  • Plan, organize, direct, and control procurement activities.
  • Analyze delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability and report findings to management.
  • Utilize negotiation and procurement reporting systems to meet company requirements.
  • Work with Receiving to ensure proper supplies arrive and are entered correctly into the system.
  • Maintain surveillance over inventory to support production and sales efforts.
  • Maintain procedures that offer basic guidelines and a framework for supplier relationships.
  • Study workflow and sequence of operations to recommend process improvements.
  • Write and implement standard work instructions and train personnel.
  • Participate in VOS activities.
