Job summary

Emerson is seeking a Production Planning professional to support the Master Production Schedule (MPS) and release work orders based on priorities. You will validate BOMs/routings, ensure material availability, and coordinate with Engineering and Customer Care to resolve discrepancies.

You will monitor WIPs, drive corrective actions for aging inventory, and balance capacity with leadership to optimize production priorities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or related field.
• 3+ years in manufacturing, production planning, materials planning, scheduling, or supply chain.
• Strong knowledge of MRP systems and BOMs/routings.
• Experience with material substitutions and inventory transactions.
• Proficiency with Excel and MS Office; analytical mindset.

Responsibilities

• Support creation, maintenance, and execution of the Master Production Schedule (MPS).
• Review and release work orders per production priorities and schedule requirements.
• Validate work order readiness including BOM accuracy, routing accuracy, material availability, and subassemblies.
• Coordinate with Customer Care/Engineering to resolve missing information or discrepancies.
• Identify and implement material substitutions with Engineering when shortages occur.
• Monitor work orders through production lifecycle from release to shipment.
• Manage aging WIP and drive corrective actions to timely completion.
• Balance material availability, labor capacity, and production priorities with manufacturing leadership.
• Verify all material issues, completions, backflushes, subassembly transactions, and inventory movements before closing WOs.
• Communicate priorities, shortages, risks, and recovery plans across the organization.
• Interact with plant and corporate personnel at all levels.
• Perform other duties as assigned; work overtime as required.
