Job summary

Travis County’s Facilities Management Department seeks a master plumber to install, maintain and repair building plumbing systems across county facilities. The role includes emergency repairs, requisitioning supplies and performing mandated testing, all in conformance with building codes and safety standards.

Applicants must hold a Texas Master Plumber license, a valid Texas driver’s license, and pass CJIS background checks.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or G.E.D. AND five (5) years experience in the installation and repair of plumbing fixtures and systems, such as gas, water and steam systems, including lead or supervisory experience
• Any combination of education and experience that has been achieved and is equivalent to the stated education and experience and required knowledge, skills, and abilities sufficient to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of this job.

Responsibilities

• Inspects, maintains and repairs building plumbing systems.
• Provides training and technical advice/assistance. Serves as lead worker for specific projects/work orders.
• Plans and develops routine maintenance schedules for systems.
• Responds to requests for service.
• Researches and estimates time and materials needed and records time and materials used.
