Job summary

Hartford HealthCare is seeking a Data Integrity/EMPI specialist to ensure accuracy and consistency of patient identifiers across all system entities. You will resolve urgent MPI duplicates, investigate non-emergent issues, and communicate outcomes to multiple departments and partners.

The role supports enterprise EMPI tools and cleanup activities. The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of MPI experience, a health information background, and is proficient in HIPAA-compliant data handling.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience with MPI functionality and clinical documentation (1–2 years).
  • RHIA or RHIT certification preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accuracy and consistency of information across all Health System entities.
  • Resolve urgent MPI duplicate/overlay errors impacting patient care.
  • Investigate and resolve non-emergent potential duplicates using daily reports and task queues.
  • Communicate outcomes with departments, partners, and affiliate organizations.
  • Support enterprise MPI maintenance and downstream system integrity.
  • Assist in training curriculum related to EMPI cleanup activities.
