Qualifications

• Retail experience of at least 14 months.
• Completed WFM Butcher Apprentice Program or equivalent.
• Excellent meat handling and safety knowledge.
• Ability to mentor trainees.
• Strong customer service and selling skills.
• Ability to work flexible shifts and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Cuts, platters, and merchandises meat products across beef, pork, lamb, veal, and poultry.
• Prepares specialty meat merchandise (sausage, oven-ready products, and cured meats).
• Checks product to ensure it meets WFM quality standards.
• Maintains sampling program and monitors spoilage.
• Mentors Meat Cutter Trainee(s).
• Provides excellent customer service and uses suggestive selling techniques.
• Maximizes sales through proper prepping, storing, rotating and merchandising.
• Follows safety, health, sanitation, and Weights & Measures procedures.
• Maintains clean, sanitary work and shopping areas; ensures equipment cleanliness.
• Performs opening, mid, and closing duties; ensures accurate signs and pricing.
• Reports safety hazards and violations promptly.
• Performs other duties as assigned by leadership.
