Job summary

Whole Foods Market in Edgewater, NJ is seeking a Meat Cutter to cut, platter, and merchandize beef, pork, lamb, veal, and poultry. You will prepare specialty meat products, ensure quality, and support sampling programs while delivering friendly service.

You will follow health, safety, and Weights & Measures procedures, maintain clean work areas, and mentor trainees. The role requires lifting up to 50 pounds, flexible schedule including evenings and weekends, and a passion for natural foods.

Qualifications

• 14+ months retail experience.
• Completed WFM Butcher Apprentice Program or equivalent training.
• UK Exceptions may apply.

Responsibilities

• Cuts, platters, and merchandises products (beef, pork, lamb, veal, poultry).
• Prepares specialty meat merchandise (i.e. sausage, oven ready products, and cured meats).
• Checks product to meet WFM quality standards.
• Maintains sampling program.
• Monitors and assists in preventing spoilage.
• Mentors and supports Meat Cutter Trainee(s).
• Provides excellent customer service and uses suggestive selling techniques.
