Job summary

Whole Foods Market is seeking a Meat Cutter in Florida to join our team. You will cut, prepare, and merchandise beef, pork, lamb, veal, and poultry, while maintaining quality and sanitation standards. You will train and mentor Meat Cutter Trainees and assist in lead-role duties as needed.

The role emphasizes accurate pricing, exceptional customer service, and teamwork in a fast-paced store environment. Previous butcher training and retail experience are valued.

Qualifications

• Must have 14+ months retail experience.
• Completed WFM Butcher Apprentice Program or equivalent training.
• Experience with meat and seafood cuts.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Cuts, platters, and merchandises products (beef, pork, lamb, veal, poultry).
• Prepares specialty meat merchandise (sausage, oven ready products, and cured meats).
• Checks product to meet WFM quality standards.
• Maintains sampling program.
• Monitors and assists in preventing spoilage.
• Mentors and supports Meat Cutter Trainee(s).
• Provides excellent customer service and uses suggestive selling techniques.
• Maximizes sales through proper prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising.
• Follows health, sanitation, and safe work practices.
• Performs opening, mid, and closing duties; ensures accuracy of signs and pricing.
• Reports safety hazards immediately.
