Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• ASE Master Mechanic certification is required.
• EPA 609 Technician Certification is required.
• At least 10 years of relevant vehicle mechanics experience.
• DOT medical certification is required.
• Advanced knowledge of hydraulics, transmissions, engines, brakes, fuel and air systems, lubrication, generators, safety procedures, HVAC systems, tires, and electronics.

Responsibilities

• Performs and schedules preventive and routine maintenance on company vehicles and related equipment.
• Troubleshoots vehicle systems to identify repairs and return vehicles to safe operating condition.
• Performs major and minor repairs in-house when possible, including engine, transmission, brakes, hydraulics, and HVAC work.
• Schedules major repairs with approved vendors when needed.
• Advises managers on repairs with cost and time estimates.
• Maintains vehicle records per industry standards.
• Conducts DOT and internal inspections and manages DVIR forms daily.
• Prepares new vehicles for service and equips them for operators' daily tasks.
• Stores parts and materials and coordinates transportation to repair facilities when required.
• Ensures compliance with company policies and maintains a clean, safe work area.
