Job summary

San Antonio Water System is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to perform intermediate to advanced maintenance, repair, and operation of plants, buildings, and infrastructures. The role requires diverse crafts skills and a focus on safety and quality workmanship.

Responsibilities include fabricating alterations, estimating project costs, and leading junior staff when needed. A strong background in carpentry, masonry, painting, and plumbing is essential, as well as a valid Texas driver's

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Four years of carpentry, masonry, painting, concrete construction, and plumbing experience, including three years operating tools/equipment.
• Valid Class C Texas Driver's License required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates, designs and fabricates alterations, installations or repairs of industrial plants, infrastructures and buildings.
• Constructs, installs and repairs infrastructure projects from start to finish.
• Estimates projects including equipment, materials and costs.
• Performs routine maintenance on plants, buildings and infrastructures.
• Reads, interprets sketches, blueprints and specifications to resolve construction problems.
• Reconfigures, installs and repairs irrigation systems.
