Job summary

Daikin Applied Americas in Faribault, MN is seeking a maintenance technician on the 2nd shift to keep production equipment running smoothly and safely. You will diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and electronic systems while prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires reading and writing English, the ability to lift and use hand tools, and a High School diploma or equivalent (or 2 years related experience).

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift, push, pull materials and stand for most of the shift.
• Must read, write and communicate effectively in English.
• High School or GED or 2 years of related manufacturing/production experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain production equipment in optimum condition and safe, efficient operation.
• Work with minimal supervision and prioritize tasks.
• Diagnose, locate and repair electrical, hydraulic, mechanical and electronic problems.
• Communicate clearly with service support, supervision and management.
• Train other maintenance personnel and document repairs for better troubleshooting.
• Assist Maintenance Supervisor and support during major equipment failures.
• Attend selected training courses and uphold a service attitude in the plant.

Your Responsibilities

• Maintain production equipment in optimum condition and as safe, efficient and reliable as priorities and time allows.
• Must be self-driven and able to work with a minimum of supervision.
• Must understand shop operation and be able to make proper priority decisions.
• Capable of diagnosing, locating and repairing electrical, hydraulic, mechanical and electronic problems.
• Must be capable of good, accurate communications with service support, factory supervision and management.
• Must be able to train other maintenance personnel.
• Must document repairs to enable better trouble-shooting skills.
• Must be a leader and assist Maintenance Supervisor in their duties.
• Must support and assist in major equipment failure during any shift, upon short notice.
• Must attend selected training courses as deemed necessary each year.
• Must provide and demonstrate service attitude in all interactions within the plant.

Your Qualifications

• The ability to lift, push, and/or pull materials, stand for majority of the shift, and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining proper PPE.
• The ability to use hand tools for extended periods of time.
• The ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
• High School Education/GED OR Minimum 2 years of related experience in a manufacturing/production environment.
