Job summary

Travis County’s Facilities Management Department seeks a skilled Master Electrician to install, maintain and repair electrical circuits and systems across county facilities. You will develop preventive maintenance schedules, perform specialized tests, and ensure work adheres to building codes and safety procedures.

The role includes leading crews, coordinating repairs, and may involve work in secure facilities with flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends to meet department needs.

Qualifications

• Requires Master Electrician License and 6+ years of experience in electrical installation, maintenance and repair.
• Possess knowledge of electrical codes and safety regulations.
• Experience leading crews and coordinating maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

• Respond to system repair requests and perform maintenance.
• Inspect, maintain and repair electrical systems and components.
• Lead crews on electrical projects and provide technical guidance.
• Plan maintenance schedules and perform preventive maintenance.
• Estimate time and material needs for tasks and manage tools/inventory.
• Test and calibrate electrical equipment and controls.
• Obtain required permits and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Work with diverse teams and communicate clearly with stakeholders.
