Job summary

Travis County's Facilities Management Department is seeking a Master Plumber to perform skilled plumbing work in installation, maintenance and repair of building systems. The role includes leading projects, planning maintenance schedules and ensuring compliance with codes.

Requires a Texas Master Plumber license, five years of relevant experience, and the ability to work flexible hours. Location: Various Travis County facilities; benefits and retirement plans included.

Qualifications

• 5 years experience in installation and repair of plumbing fixtures and systems.
• Master Plumber License issued by the State of Texas.
• Valid Texas Driver's License.
• Must pass CJIS background check and fingerprint clearance.

Responsibilities

• Inspects, maintains and repairs building plumbing systems. Makes recommendations regarding replacement or upgrade of systems.
• Provides training and technical advice/assistance. Serves as lead worker for specific projects/work orders.
• Plans and develops routine maintenance schedules for systems. Responds to requests for service.
• Obtains permits for the construction of new plumbing systems as required.
• Performs preventive maintenance and required testing on plumbing systems.
