Job summary

Ryder in Mason City, IA is seeking a permanent full-time Master Level Diesel Technician to maintain and repair heavy-duty diesel engines, supporting our truck fleet in Mason City, Iowa.

The position offers second shift hours (2:30 pm – 11:00 pm) with pay of $27.75 per hour, plus certification and quarterly bonuses, and extensive benefits including PTO from day 1, 401(k) match, uniforms, tuition assistance, and more.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational/Technical certification or post-secondary degree preferred.
• Basic tools required.
• Two years or more of related training/experience preferred.
• CDL Class A preferred.
• Able to obtain CDL within 6 months and pass Ryder screenings.

Responsibilities

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties.
• Performs standard vehicle maintenance.
• Performs standard component inspections and repairs.
• Performs preventive maintenance.
• Diagnoses standard mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computer when applicable.
• Identifies root cause of basic failures/conditions and performs repairs as required.
• Interacts with customers/drivers to determine nature of the complaint.
• Uses Shop Management System and electronic documentation.
• Follows safety and regulatory guidelines.
