Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in Lansing, MI is seeking a mid-level Diesel Technician to repair and maintain heavy-duty vehicles on a second shift, 3:00 pm–11:30 pm. You will use state-of-the-art diagnostics and tools with a strong emphasis on safety and quality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational or technical certification preferred.
• Basic tools required.
• Experience with mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines.
• 2+ years of related training/experience preferred.
• CDL Class A preferred; ability to obtain CDL within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties.
• Performs standard vehicle maintenance and inspections.
• Diagnoses mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic tools.
• Replaces defective components as instructed.
• Interacts with customers/drivers to determine nature of the issue.
• Uses Shop Management System and documents work performed.
