Job summary

Razny Jewelers, a premier family-owned luxury jeweler serving the Chicagoland area for more than 70 years, is seeking an experienced Master Bench Jeweler to join our Manufacturing and Service team at our Addison, Illinois location.

The Master Bench Jeweler will perform advanced repairs and fabrication, handle precious metals including platinum and 18K/14K gold, and ensure the highest standards of craftsmanship for high-value pieces.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional bench jewelry experience in luxury environment.
• Advanced proficiency in repair, fabrication, stone setting, soldering, laser welding, polishing, and finishing.
• Ability to complete complex repairs and fabrication independently from start to finish.
• Extensive experience with platinum, yellow gold, white gold, diamonds, and precious gemstones.
• Strong understanding of jewelry construction and structural integrity.
• Exceptional hand skills, precision, and attention to detail.
• Ability to meet luxury-quality standards and deadlines.
• Strong problem-solving and discretion with high-value pieces.
• GIA education, trade school training, or similar certifications is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced jewelry repair, restoration, and alteration while maintaining quality.
• Expertly set diamonds and gemstones using various techniques.
• Perform complex ring sizing, prong and channel repairs, re-tipping, chain repair.
• Use laser welding and bench techniques for precise repairs.
• Assemble and fabricate jewelry from traditional to high-end pieces.
• Take jewelry from raw casting through assembly, stone setting, polishing, finishing.
• Work with platinum, 18K and 14K gold, and other precious metals.
• Evaluate jewelry and identify structural or quality concerns.
• Maintain high-quality standards throughout the process.
• Collaborate with service, sales, and manufacturing teams to meet deadlines.
• Handle and protect high-value merchandise and client-owned jewelry.
• Maintain an organized, professional bench environment.

Razny Jewelers, a premier family-owned luxury jeweler serving the Chicagoland area for more than 70 years, is seeking an experienced Master Bench Jeweler to join our Manufacturing and Service team at our Addison, Illinois location.

Our bench jewelers play an essential role in upholding that reputation, working with fine jewelry, diamonds, precious gemstones, and pieces of significant value and meaning to our clients.

We are looking for a highly skilled craftsperson who takes pride in precision, understands the standards expected in a luxury jewelry environment, and is confident performing both complex repairs and advanced jewelry fabrication.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform advanced jewelry repair, restoration, and alteration while maintaining the integrity and quality of each piece
• Expertly set diamonds and precious gemstones using a variety of setting techniques
• Perform complex ring sizing, prong and channel repair, re-tipping, chain repair, and other fine jewelry repairs
• Utilize laser welding and traditional bench techniques to complete precise repairs and modifications
• Assemble and fabricate jewelry ranging from traditional designs to complex, high-end pieces
• Take jewelry from raw casting through assembly, stone setting, polishing, and final finishing
• Work confidently with platinum, 18K and 14K gold, and other precious metals
• Evaluate jewelry and determine appropriate repair methods while identifying potential structural or quality concerns
• Maintain exceptional quality standards and attention to detail throughout every stage of the repair or manufacturing process
• Collaborate with our service, sales, and manufacturing teams to ensure client expectations and deadlines are met
• Properly handle, protect, and account for high-value merchandise, diamonds, gemstones, and client-owned jewelry
• Maintain an organized, professional, and secure bench environment

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional bench jewelry experience, preferably within a luxury or high-end fine jewelry environment
• Advanced proficiency in jewelry repair, fabrication, stone setting, soldering, laser welding, polishing, and finishing
• Demonstrated ability to complete complex repairs and fabrication independently from start to finish
• Extensive experience working with platinum, yellow gold, white gold, diamonds, and precious gemstones
• Strong understanding of jewelry construction, structural integrity, and appropriate repair techniques
• Exceptional hand skills, precision, and attention to detail
• Ability to consistently produce work that meets luxury-quality standards
• Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment when working with valuable or delicate pieces
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment
• High level of discretion, integrity, and responsibility when handling client-owned and high-value merchandise
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and business needs, including occasional overtime or modified schedules
• Commitment to continued learning and development, regardless of experience level
• GIA education, trade school training, or other recognized jewelry certifications are a plus
