Job summary

Inova Well in Virginia is seeking a Massage Therapist to support our physical therapy clinic on a PRN basis with days varying, Monday through Saturday and occasional evening shifts.

The role requires High School diploma or equivalent, 200 clinical hours and 500 training hours from an accredited massage institute, certification from an accredited massage institute, and Virginia Licensure as a massage therapist; BLS required on start.

Qualifications

• Certification: Accredited massage institute certification.
• Licensure: Virginia Licensed Massage Therapist; BLS required on start.

Responsibilities

• Ensures a clean and orderly work area.
• Greets/escorts patients to proper treatment areas in a timely manner.
• Performs therapeutic massages to patients in the physical therapy clinic.
• Cleans mats, tables, and equipment per facility standards.
• Adheres to department policies regarding daily notes.
• Demonstrates collaboration with team and openness to feedback and change.
• Selects evaluation and treatment methods appropriate for diagnosis and patient status; uses massage techniques.
• May perform additional duties as assigned.

Massage Therapist Job Responsibilities:

• Ensures a clean and orderly work area.
• Greets/escorts patients to proper treatment areas in a timely manner.
• Performs therapeutic massages to patients in the physical therapy clinic. * Cleans mats, tables, and equipment, per facility standards, prior to massages.
• Adheres to department policies regarding timeframe, form, and content of written daily notes.
• Demonstrates collaboration in communication with team members and is open to feedback and receptive to change.
• Selects evaluation and treatment methods appropriate for the diagnosis, age group, and patients' physical/emotional status while formulating appropriate treatment plans. Demonstrates essential skill competencies in the use of massage treatment techniques such as soft/deep tissue massage, effleurage, petrissage, myofascial release and trigger point release techniques.
• May perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent
• Experience: 200 clinical hours and 500 training hours from an accredited massage institute
• Certifications: Certification from an accredited massage institute, BLS from the American Heart Association required upon start.
• Licensed: Virginia Licensed Massage Therapist

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1 year of massage therapist experience
• Prenatal and post-partum massage therapy experience
