Job summary

Inova Well in Northern Virginia is seeking a Massage Therapist to join our team on a PRN basis with day shifts Monday through Saturday and varied hours, including evenings. You will work in our physical therapy clinic, delivering therapeutic massages to patients and supporting recovery goals.

This role requires Virginia LMT license, 200 clinical hours and 500 training hours, plus certification from an accredited massage program and BLS.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
• At least 200 clinical hours and 500 training hours from an accredited massage program.
• Certification from an accredited massage institute; BLS from the American Heart Association required on start.
• Licensed in Virginia as a Massage Therapist.

Responsibilities

• Perform therapeutic massages in the physical therapy clinic.
• Maintain clean, orderly work area and equipment.
• Greet patients and escort to treatment areas.
• Document notes per department policies.
• Collaborate with team and implement treatment plans.
• Adhere to safety and infection control standards.

Massage Therapist Job Responsibilities

• Ensures a clean and orderly work area.
• Greets/escorts patients to proper treatment areas in a timely manner.
• Performs therapeutic massages to patients in the physical therapy clinic.
• Cleans mats, tables, and equipment, per facility standards, prior to massages.
• Adheres to department policies regarding timeframe, form, and content of written daily notes.
• Demonstrates collaboration in communication with team members and is open to feedback and receptive to change.
• Selects evaluation and treatment methods appropriate for the diagnosis, age group, and patients' physical/emotional status while formulating appropriate treatment plans. Demonstrates essential skill competencies in the use of massage treatment techniques such as soft/deep tissue massage, effleurage, petrissage, myofascial release and trigger point release techniques.
• May perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent
• Experience: 200 clinical hours and 500 training hours from an accredited massage institute
• Certifications: Certification from an accredited massage institute, BLS from the American Heart Association required upon start.
• Licensed: Virginia Licensed Massage Therapist

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 year of massage therapist experience
• Prenatal and post-partum massage therapy experience
