Job summary

Vibrant Wellness in Santa Clara, CA is seeking a Mass Spectrometry Service Engineer to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and uptime of MS systems in a clinical diagnostics laboratory. The role involves on-site calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting with a focus on LC-MS/MS, GC-MS/MS, and ICP-MS instruments.

The ideal candidate will manage 40–50 service tickets, coordinate with vendors for advanced repairs, and maintain comprehensive documentation while supporting on-call service

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Biomedical Sciences or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience calibrating, validating, repairing and maintaining analytical instruments.
• Extensive hands-on experience servicing mass spectrometry systems.
• Strong hardware troubleshooting expertise.
• Experience with LC-MS/MS, GC-MS/MS and ICP-MS systems.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical laboratory and collaborate with teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site calibration, validation, repair and maintenance of mass spectrometry instruments.
• Manage and prioritize 40–50 instrument service tickets regularly.
• Perform preventive cleaning and maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Troubleshoot hardware, instrument and system issues affecting MS performance.
• Coordinate with vendors and external service technicians for advanced repairs.
• Maintain detailed service documentation and logs.
