Job summary

Bruker Daltonics in the San Francisco Bay Area is seeking a Field Service Engineer focused on high-resolution mass spectrometry instrumentation, mainly Bruker TIMS TOF systems. You will install and support complex instrumentation and train customers on operation.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years diagnosing mass spectrometers, troubleshooting HPLC/nanoLC, and is comfortable traveling up to 80% with strong customer focus. Competitive benefits apply.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Biotech, Biology or Chemistry related fields or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience diagnosing and repairing mass spectrometers.
• Experience troubleshooting HPLC and nanoLC required.
• Proven knowledge of analog electronics, high voltage circuitry/circuits, laser technology.
• Experience with GLP and working in a regulated environment.
• Strong technical skills involving analytical instrumentation.
• Excellent customer focus with ability to respond to inquiries and communicate with customers of varying expertise.
• Ability to travel up to 80% and to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Familiarize and train customers for basic operation of the equipment.
• Perform remote support and diagnostic analysis to determine on-site maintenance needs.
• Organize and prioritize schedule based on customer requirements for onsite visits and remote assistance.
• Re-qualify the instrument after service repair by running tests for verification.
• Secure customer acceptance of installation and maintenance sign-off.
• Perform installation of new systems, preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Communicate with Service and Support Center, Regional Service Management and Applications Specialists.
• Perform other duties as required.
