Job summary

KCAS Bio in Kansas City, MO is seeking an Associate Director to lead the Mass Spectrometry Bioanalysis Production group. You will provide operational and scientific leadership across the MSB Production organization, guiding regulated studies and driving quality, throughput, and continuous improvement.

The role emphasizes coaching scientific staff, improving workflows, and partnering with Quality Assurance to ensure GLP compliance and data integrity while supporting client commitments and study

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biochemistry, or related scientific field; 7+ years in a bioanalytical lab
• Strong knowledge of quantitative LC-MS/MS bioanalysis workflows
• Experience in GLP/GxP-regulated environments
• Demonstrated leadership in scientific or lab settings
• Experience improving lab operations and throughput

Responsibilities

• Provide operational and scientific leadership across MSB Production; ensure quality and regulatory compliance
• Lead, develop, and coach scientific staff; establish clear performance expectations
• Evaluate and improve production workflows to increase throughput and capacity
• Drive standardization across teams while maintaining data integrity and GLP compliance
• Collaborate with MSB leadership to manage capacity, resources, and instrumentation
• Monitor performance metrics and conduct root-cause analyses to mitigate risks
• Provide escalation support for complex technical and quality issues with QA
• Identify opportunities to automate and standardize laboratory operations
• Collaborate with QA, Program Management, and other teams to meet client commitments
• Support company mission and values in all duties
