Job summary

Merola Opera Program seeks a Marketing & Membership Manager to direct its marketing across all channels and lead annual fundraising appeals and patron communications. Qualifications

  • 3–5 years in marketing, communications, development, or a related field.
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with close attention to brand voice.
  • Experience with email platforms (Mailchimp), social scheduling tools, and a website CMS (WordPress).
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, Google Analytics, and SEO/SEM best practices.
  • Experience with Salesforce, PatronManager, or other CRM tools strongly preferred.
  • Comfort with donor and member relationships with warmth and professionalism.

Marketing & Membership Manager

Summary

Merola Opera Program seeks a Marketing & Membership Manager to direct its marketing across all channels, serving as the primary lead for Merola's annual fundraising appeals and patron communications. This is an opportunity for a versatile communicator to own the full marketing toolkit for a legacy arts organization while growing as a strategist and storyteller.

A dynamic, detail-oriented content creator and copywriter, this manager owns Merola's marketing operations and public-facing collateral, executes appeal and renewal campaigns, manages key vendor relationships, and supports development operations and the stewardship of donors and members. Working with the Executive Director, development team, and external marketing and PR consultants, they help shape strategy and promote all events, performances, and activities to enhance Merola's visibility.

This hybrid, full-time role requires evening and weekend availability during the Merola summer festival and for donor and membership events.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Annual Fund & Membership
  • Lead copy, design, scheduling, and multi-channel execution for Merola's annual appeal cycles and membership renewals, in partnership with the development team.
  • Manage the public and donor-facing communications calendar so campaigns are prepared ahead of Merola's busiest seasons.
Email, Web & Digital Marketing
  • Lead all email campaigns, including copy, layout, scheduling, and segmentation, while coordinating list trades.
  • Maintain and enhance Merola's website, managing SEO and site analytics with designers and developers.
  • Manage Merola's social media presence, content calendar, and partner collaborations.
Publications, Advertising & Brand
  • Produce copy and oversee the design and production of Merola's print and digital publications, managing vendors and timelines.
  • Coordinate with Merola’s marketing and PR consultants on the annual advertising plan.
  • Maintain brand guidelines across all internal and external channels.
Ticketing & Box Office
  • Serve as primary liaison with Merola's box office vendor, overseeing comp allocations, sales tracking, and ticket builds.
  • Capture and manage ticketing and patron data in the CRM to inform marketing strategy.
PR & Media Assets
  • Serve as point of contact for Merola's PR consultants and internal lead on communications and press materials.
  • Produce, edit, and manage all photo and video assets, including usage rights, and serve as primary liaison with media vendors.
Donor & Member Services
  • Share responsibility for all member inquiries, monitoring Merola's membership inbox for timely, accurate responses.
  • Support gift processing and CRM management of donor records.
Reporting & Analytics
  • Report on marketing and patron performance metrics, tracking KPIs, revenue, and retention goals.
Team Collaboration
  • Work closely with leadership, staff, and consultants on strategy and messaging.
  • Assist with all Merola events and performances.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $75,000 to $85,000 annually, commensurate with experience. Merola Opera Program offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) retirement plan, paid time off, and paid holidays.
