Job description

Position: Marketing Manager
FLSA Classification: Exempt
Position reports to: Director of Membership, Marketing, and Communications

Position Summary:

The Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and executing marketing campaigns to promote DMEC’s membership and educational products. This position ensures the achievement of growth goals and increased brand awareness through the execution of marketing best practices and is proficient in creating data-driven, integrated marketing campaigns. The position exhibits leadership skills and displays DMEC’s core values. It requires minimal supervision and involves collaboration across teams and with individuals of all skill levels and positions.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Develops and implements an integrated marketing strategy for membership, conferences, microcredentials, certifications, and webinars. Understands and leverages appropriate marketing mix and ideas to drive revenue and create a valuable member/customer experience.
  2. Analyzes and reports results of all campaign channels and makes recommendations for improvements and adjustments.
  3. Creates, manages, and executes successful marketing campaigns utilizing the Pardot marketing automation platform, monitoring reports, trends, and engagement to drive funnel advancement.
  4. In partnership with the Communications Manager, writes engaging copy for product positioning statements, website pages, email campaigns, and digital ads, ensuring consistency in brand voice and messaging across all touchpoints.
  5. Reviews marketing communications to ensure consistent use of DMEC brand guidelines.
  6. Designs a wide range of visual content, including social media assets, email banners, infographics, presentations, and promotional materials aligned with brand guidelines and marketing objectives.
  7. Provides backup support to the Communications Manager for social media posts.
  8. Manages email campaigns and develops email testing and segmentation when appropriate.
  9. Serves as webmaster for the organization’s website (WordPress), with primary responsibility for strategic planning, optimization, maintenance, and ongoing reporting and evaluation.
  10. Ensures articulate, accurate, and consistent communication across all channels to promote DMEC’s image and position within the industry.
  11. Guides the use and evolution of brand, voice, and style guidelines to maintain consistency and freshness.
  12. Monitors market and industry trends to guide messaging, pricing, and programs.
  13. Collaborates with colleagues and senior management on product initiatives, including development, execution, and promotion of new products and services.
  14. Works with internal teams to improve management, data quality, and utilization of DMEC’s CRM, webinar, and LMS systems.
  15. Oversees engagement with external vendors for marketing materials and lead generation resources.
  16. Manages the annual marketing budget, including forecasting, expense scheduling, and variance analysis.
  17. Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Basic HTML skills and website content management experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects under tight deadlines.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field preferred.
  • At least 4 years of experience in membership, marketing, or communications.
  • Experience managing multiple social media channels and campaigns.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, data analytics, and CRM systems, including Salesforce, Nimble AMS, and Pardot.
  • Strong project management experience.

Work Environment:

  • This is a remote position; a quiet home office is required.
  • Travel may be required one to three times per year for conferences and events.

Benefits:

Salary range: $67,502 – $91,327 annually. Benefits include paid sick leave, vacation, bereavement leave, 401(k) with company match, flexible spending accounts, holidays, and health benefits. Details provided upon hire.

Employees are eligible for health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance after 30 days, and for paid family leave after 60 days.

Equipment: DMEC provides necessary home office equipment and a monthly $100 technology stipend.
