Job Description:

The Marketing Manager leads the firm’s business development and marketing efforts with a primary focus on pursuit strategy, proposal development, and brand positioning within the architectural and historic preservation market. This role is responsible for identifying project opportunities, managing RFQ/RFP responses, coordinating proposal production, and supporting the firm’s visibility through targeted marketing initiatives.

The position requires an in-depth understanding of the architectural industry’s procurement processes, including public‑sector qualifications‑based selection, competitive proposals, and consultant coordination. The Marketing Manager works closely with principals, project managers, and consultants to develop compelling narratives that clearly communicate the firm’s expertise, project experience, and value proposition.

In addition to pursuit management, the role oversees day‑to‑day marketing functions including social media, promotional materials, and brand consistency to ensure alignment with the firm’s strategic goals and long‑term positioning.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Identify and monitor architectural and preservation project opportunities through procurement platforms, agency announcements, and industry networks.
  • Lead RFQ/RFP response strategy, including opportunity evaluation, and submission planning.
  • Manage full proposal lifecycle from kickoff through submission, including scheduling, content coordination, and production oversight.
  • Develop and maintain proposal templates, resumes, project sheets, and qualification packages.
  • Coordinate with principals, technical staff, and consultants to gather content, narratives, graphics, and supporting documentation.
  • Write, edit, and refine proposal narratives to clearly articulate the firm’s capabilities, preservation expertise, and project approach.
  • Ensure compliance with submission requirements, formatting standards, and deadlines.
  • Maintain a library of marketing materials, project photography, resumes, and firm credentials.
  • Track proposal submissions, outcomes, and follow‑up communications.
  • Support interview preparation, presentation materials, and shortlist strategies including content development and rehearsal coordination as needed.
  • Manage consultant coordination and inclusion in team proposals.
  • Develop and maintain marketing calendars aligned with business development goals.
  • Oversee social media presence, website updates, and promotional outreach consistent with firm branding.
  • Coordinate press releases, award submissions, and professional recognition initiatives.
  • Monitor industry trends and procurement changes relevant to architectural and preservation services.
  • Assist leadership in long‑term pursuit strategy and positioning through market research and pipeline tracking.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience preparing RFQs, RFPs, and qualifications‑based proposals within the architecture, engineering, or construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of public‑sector procurement processes and consultant team coordination.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and narrative development skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent deadlines and proposal schedules.
  • Knowledge of branding and marketing principles applicable to professional services.
  • Proficiency in Adobe InDesign and related production software.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Attention to detail and compliance with submission requirements.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and leadership teams.
  • Maintain accurate marketing records and proposal tracking.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop proposal graphics and presentation materials consistent with firm branding.
  • Must be a U.S Citizen.
  • Must be fluent in both written and spoken English; Spanish is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in architectural or historic preservation firm marketing.
  • Familiarity with government and institutional procurement platforms.
  • Experience with CRM systems and marketing tracking tools is a plus.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related discipline.
  • 5–8+ years of marketing experience in an architectural, engineering, or construction environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign.
  • Experience managing proposal workflows and consultant coordination.
  • Strong problem‑solving and deadline management skills.

Candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
