Rare Plant Fairy is a rare plant company based in Detroit, MI. We started in 2020 selling a personal collection on Facebook Marketplace and have grown to ship to more than 100,000 customers from a 14,000 square foot facility with our own tissue culture lab. About the Role

We're looking for a hands‑on Marketing Coordinator to own our email and SMS channel. Every week we run drops, promotions, and product launches, and you're the person who turns those into sends that go out on time, work correctly, and make money. This is an execution role with a real number attached to it — you'll be in Klaviyo and Shopify every day, and you'll know how your campaigns performed before anyone asks.

Key Responsibilities

Email & SMS

• Draft, build, and schedule weekly promotional email and SMS campaigns
• Write subject lines and body copy for drops, sales, and product news
• Build and maintain automated flows: welcome series, abandoned cart, post-purchase
• Segment and re‑engage past customers and dormant subscribers

On‑Site & Campaign Support

• Update homepage banners, announcement bars, and landing page copy to match live promotions
• Keep paid search messaging aligned with what's actually running (no hands‑on ad management required)
• Maintain the promotional calendar so the team knows what's shipping and when

Quality & Reporting

• Check every link, discount code, and preview text before send — zero-error standard
• Report weekly on open rate, click rate, and revenue by campaignFlag what’s working and what isn’t, with the numbers to back it up

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in marketing, or a strong internship background; a degree in Marketing, Communications, or similar is a plus, not a requirement
• Sharp writing — clear, specific, and free of typos
• Comfortable in e‑commerce tools — Klaviyo and Shopify experience is a big plus. If you haven't used them, show us you learn software fast
• Working knowledge of email marketing, SEO, and paid search fundamentals
• Organized enough to hit weekly deadlines without being chased
• Curious about the numbers — if a report looks wrong, you check it instead of shrugging
• Plant experience is not required. Interest in plants helps.
