POSITION SUMMARY:
The Marketing Coordinator serves Southland by developing and executing strategic communication efforts that connect people to the life and mission of the church. This role partners with ministries across campuses to craft clear, compelling messaging that invites people to take meaningful next steps in their faith journey. Through thoughtful marketing and storytelling, the Marketing Coordinator helps ensure Southland’s mission—to love God and love people—is communicated with clarity, consistency, and impact.
ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Help shape and implement strategic marketing plans that support Southland’s ministries, weekend services, and church-wide initiatives—leveraging digital, print, social, and in-person channels to maximize engagement and affinity.
- Create and maintain a consistent marketing calendar that aligns with our vision. Build out intentional promotional campaigns that support next steps and reinforce our mission.
- Engage directly with ministry teams to understand their goals, identify opportunities, and proactively provide marketing direction that supports both their needs and Southland’s overall strategy.
- Recruit, manage, train, and encourage a team of volunteer photographers. Oversee the capture, organization, and storage of photography that reflects the life and culture of Southland across all campuses.
- Manage and monitor Southland’s digital and social platforms, ensuring content is timely, on-brand, and engaging. Help coordinate post schedules and contribute to content creation when needed.
- Evaluate the impact of marketing strategies by reviewing analytics and feedback. Use data to refine campaigns and increase reach and effectiveness over time.
- Coordinate Southland-branded merchandise as a promotional and engagement tool. Assess its effectiveness and ensure all items reflect the mission and identity of our church.
- Support the Communications Team with broader external marketing initiatives to increase visibility and community awareness of Southland.
- Participate in key church weekends (“Big Three”) and attend a weekly service as part of living in the culture and community you’re helping to communicate.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

- Experience in marketing, communications, or a related field, with a preference for knowledge of platforms like Mailchimp, Squarespace, analytics tools, and social media scheduling platforms.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments and build supportive relationships with staff and volunteers.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, including the ability to juggle multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and adapt quickly to changing ministry and creative needs.
- A creative mindset with attention to detail and a desire to consistently improve and innovate.
- The ability to receive feedback, grow from it, and help make Southland’s message as clear and compelling as possible.
- Follows the lifestyle guardrails of Southland and conducts their personal life according to the teaching of the church.
The schedule for this position is Sunday - Thursday and does include some evenings.
