Job summary

Happen Bank is seeking an Independent Compliance Risk Manager – Marketing to safeguard regulatory compliance across the Bank’s marketing and advertising campaigns. You will partner with Marketing, Legal, Product Compliance, and Product to identify risks and establish standards and controls ensuring customer communications meet laws and internal policies.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in marketing compliance, consumer protection, or financial services compliance.
• Bachelor's degree or higher, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong working knowledge of ECOA, UDAAP, TILA, CAN-SPAM, and Fair Lending regulations.
• Experience working in fast-paced, dynamic environments with competing priorities, aggressive timelines, and evolving requirements.
• Strong communication and influencing skills across Marketing, Legal, Product, Risk, and other teams.
• Ability to identify compliance risks and apply sound judgment in fast-moving marketing environments.
• Proactive ownership to identify and mitigate compliance risks before they become larger issues.
• Organized and detail-oriented, with ability to understand how objectives and regulatory requirements intersect.
• Interest in using AI to improve review processes while maintaining accuracy and oversight.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a subject-matter expert for Marketing Compliance, providing independent oversight across the Bank’s marketing program.
• Establish and maintain marketing compliance standards, policies, procedures, and controls aligned with regulatory requirements and risk appetite.
• Ensure marketing materials comply with ECOA, UDAAP, TILA, CAN-SPAM, and Fair Lending requirements.
• Review and approve marketing materials across email, web, digital ads, landing pages, social, direct mail with disclosures and terms.
• Maintain and update the marketing communications guide and disclosures with Legal and Product Compliance.
• Assess regulatory risks across marketing processes and campaigns with cross-functional teams to mitigate issues.
• Maintain and improve automated systems that support marketing asset reviews, including AI-assisted reviews with human oversight.
• Stay current on regulatory developments and support audits and examinations related to marketing practices.
