Job summary

Happen Bank in San Francisco is seeking an Independent Compliance Risk Manager – Marketing to oversee the bank’s marketing and advertising activities, ensuring all communications meet regulatory standards and internal policies.

You will partner with Marketing, Legal, Product Compliance and Risk to identify risk, establish controls, review materials, and deploy AI-assisted review tools while maintaining necessary human oversight.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in marketing compliance or financial services compliance.
• Bachelor's degree or higher, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong knowledge of ECOA, UDAAP, TILA, CAN-SPAM, and Fair Lending controls.
• Experience in fast-paced environments with competing priorities and tight timelines.
• Excellent collaboration and influencing skills across Marketing, Legal, Product, Risk, and other teams.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a subject-matter expert for Marketing Compliance across the Bank’s marketing program.
• Establish and maintain marketing compliance standards, policies, procedures, and controls.
• Ensure marketing materials comply with ECOA, UDAAP, TILA, CAN-SPAM, and Fair Lending requirements.
• Review and approve marketing materials across email, web, digital advertising, landing pages, social media, direct mail, and other communications.
• Maintain the Marketing and Communications guide and develop new guidance as requirements evolve.
• Assess regulatory risks and controls across marketing processes and campaigns with cross-functional partners.
• Maintain and improve automated systems for marketing asset reviews, including AI-assisted checks with human oversight.
• Stay current on regulatory developments and support internal audits and regulatory examinations.
