Marketing/Business Development Specialist

TruEnergy Federal Credit Union, a $126+ million-dollar Credit Union located in Springfield, Virginia, is looking for an experienced Marketing/Business Development Specialist. This role combines creativity and relationship-building to promote credit union services and attract new members. This position plans and organizes business development activities, implements and creates innovative marketing campaigns, and enhances membership communication. They increase awareness of credit union products, build relationships with Select Employee Groups (SEGs) through outbound visits, and represent the credit union at community events to grow membership, loans, deposits, and accounts. Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are essential for professional representation.

  • HYBRID: This position has a hybrid work arrangement that gives you the opportunity to work remotely occasionally, or according to an established schedule determined by your manager.

Responsibilities:
  • Designing compelling graphics and implementing innovative marketing campaigns to highlight credit union products and services.
  • Developing and executing marketing and business development plans, campaigns, and strategies. Researching trends to recommend products and services that meet member needs.
  • Coordinating newsletters, email campaigns, social media, and event planning.
  • Building and maintaining SEG relationships, acquiring new groups, and supporting member onboarding.
  • Representing the credit union at community events to enhance visibility and drive growth in membership, loans, deposits, and accounts.
  • Preparing reports, managing media relations, and ensuring policy compliance.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • College degree in marketing, business administration, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum three (3) years relevant experience with a financial institution and/or marketing, advertising, and sales field.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Excellent business writing skills and strong presentation skills required.
  • Some travel required.
  • PC proficient including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to function in a financial institution branch environment and utilize standard office equipment including but not limited to: CRT, PC, fax, copier, telephone, postage machine, etc.
