Our Client is seeking an Interim Marketing and Communications Strategist to join their team on a short-term basis and provide both strategic leadership and hands-on execution in marketing and communications. This role will support urgent tactical needs while helping to shape integrated strategies that elevate brand visibility, stakeholder engagement, and organizational impact. The position is expected to run through the end of June or July, with flexibility based on team needs.
You Will:
- Lead the development and execution of integrated marketing and communications strategies that elevate the organization’s mission, portfolios, and impact across key audiences and platforms.
- Drive media relations and thought leadership visibility by cultivating relationships with journalists, influencers, and partners to secure earned media, interviews, and strategic coverage.
- Leverage insights, analytics, and market research to monitor performance, assess campaign effectiveness, and continuously refine messaging, positioning, and outreach strategies.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to align marketing and communications efforts with stakeholder engagement goals, policy advocacy, and program activations.
- Partner with the Creative Operations Director to ensure brand cohesion across content and campaigns, supporting the development of creative assets and execution of visual communications.
- Stay informed on marketing and communications trends, tools, and best practices to introduce innovative tactics that amplify visibility, engagement, and organizational voice.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
You Have:
- Proven experience developing and executing integrated marketing and communications strategies that drive awareness, engagement, and organizational alignment.
- Strong media relations capabilities, with a track record of securing earned coverage and building relationships with key media stakeholders.
- Expertise in analyzing performance metrics and using insights to improve messaging, targeting, and outreach.
- Ability to collaborate across departments and lead cross-functional initiatives.
- Experience working in fast-paced, mission-driven environments with strong organizational and communication skills.
- Familiarity with brand management and creative development processes, including content strategy and visual communications.
- Flexibility and adaptability to step in during times of team transition and provide both strategic and hands-on support.
- Experience with Google Suite, Sprout, and Canva; ChatGPT; Bitly and Linktree; Miro; Basecamp and Asana (or project management software); Blaze (AI social media tool) and Slack
Logistics:
- Start Date/Duration: Starting ASAP through June or July (Interim Role)
- Hours/Week: 40 Hours/Week (9 Hour Days with every other Friday Off)
- Onsite/Offsite: Remote working on Pacific timezone hours (*Must be based in the US)
