This role is an excellent opportunity for a student interested in gaining hands-on experience in marketing, communications, and public relations within an academic environment.Essential Functions:Content Creation: Assist in developing and editing content for various communication channels, including social media, newsletters, and the Kogod website.Social Media Management: Support the management of Kogod’s social media accounts by scheduling posts, engaging with followers, and monitoring analytics.Event Support: Help organize and promote events such as webinars, workshops, and networking functions. Assist with logistical arrangements and event setup.Research and Analysis: Conduct research on marketing trends, competitor activities, and best practices. Assist in analyzing marketing campaign performance.Administrative Tasks: Provide general administrative support to the Marketing and Communication team, including maintaining records, preparing reports, and coordinating meetings.Graphic Design: Assist in creating visually appealing materials using design software (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) for promotional and marketing purposes.Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:Part-time.15 hours per week.Salary Range:$18.40 per hour.Required Education and Experience:Current Enrollment: Must be a current student at American University, preferably majoring in Marketing, Communication, Business, or a related field.Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, proficiency in social media platforms, basic knowledge of graphic design principles, and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Experience: An interest in digital marketing and content creation is essential.Attributes: Creative, organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
