Job summary

The Advocate, a division of Georges Media Group, is seeking a Marketing Account Executive in New Orleans and surrounding areas to drive growth through new client acquisition and account development across print and digital products.

This role emphasizes consultative selling, multi-platform campaigns, and digital leadership to expand our advertiser base and showcase The Advocate’s full portfolio of print, digital, and event sponsorship solutions.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of sales, marketing, or business development experience.
• Previous media/advertising sales experience strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of today’s marketing/advertising ecosystem, including both traditional and digital media.

Responsibilities

• New Business Acquisition: Proactively identify, prospect, and secure new advertising clients through strategic outreach, networking, and market research.
• Consultative Selling: Discover client objectives and develop customized advertising solutions using our full suite of print and digital offerings.
• Multi-Platform Expertise: Present and sell cross-platform campaigns including print, SEM, SEO, social media, OTT/CTV, targeted display, Amazon advertising solutions, and more.
• Digital Leadership: Stay current on emerging media trends and confidently position digital-first and integrated strategies to new advertisers.
• Competitive Conquesting: Successfully convert advertising dollars from competitive media by articulating the value, reach, and ROI of The Advocate’s solutions.
• Relationship Development: Build strong, long-term partnerships with new clients by delivering results, insight, and exceptional service.
• Reporting & Forecasting: Maintain accurate sales pipelines, forecasts, and activity reporting while providing insight into market trends and competitive activity.
• Continuous Improvement: Participate in ongoing training, workshops, and industry events to sharpen sales skills and stay ahead of evolving advertising solutions.

Position Overview

Georges Media Group is seeking a highly motivated Marketing Account Executive for New Orleans and the surrounding areas; to drive growth through new client acquisition and account growth under our local brands, NOLA.com and the Times-Picayune. This role is designed for a competitive, results-oriented sales professional who thrives on prospecting, opening doors, and closing new business. This position is focused on new business development and client acquisition and will build a client list over time.

The ideal candidate is laser-focused on identifying untapped opportunities, understanding client goals, and delivering integrated advertising solutions that move the needle. This position plays a critical role in expanding our advertiser base and introducing new clients to The Advocate’s full portfolio of trusted print and cutting-edge digital products. The Account Executive will be able to sell Georges Media Group, NOLA.com and Times-Picayune’s full suite of print publications, digital marketing tactics, digital out-of-home, and event sponsorships.

• Competitive base salary, adjustable based on prior experience.
