We’re looking for a Founding Marketer to become the first dedicated marketing hire at a fast-growing B2B technology company. This is a true zero-to-one opportunity for someone who wants to build a marketing engine rather than inherit one.
You’ll work closely with the founders and commercial team to turn a sophisticated technical product into a clear, compelling story that resonates with enterprise buyers. From positioning and content to demand generation, paid acquisition and events, you’ll own the work from strategy through execution.
There is no large marketing department or established playbook waiting for you. You’ll determine what works, build repeatable processes, test channels quickly and create the foundation for a marketing organization that can scale.
What You’ll Own
- Develop the company's messaging and positioning, translating complex product capabilities into clear business outcomes for non-technical decision-makers.
- Create content yourself, including customer stories, case studies, articles, newsletters, website copy, social content, sales materials and thought leadership.
- Build an integrated growth strategy across organic, paid and field marketing channels.
- Launch and optimize campaigns across LinkedIn Ads, Google Ads and Meta, testing audiences, messaging and creative to determine where investment produces qualified opportunities.
- Build the company's presence at industry conferences and events, including event selection, sponsorship strategy, booth execution, pre-event campaigns and post-event follow-up.
- Partner closely with sales to create pitch materials, customer proof points, competitive messaging, objection-handling resources and other assets that accelerate enterprise sales cycles.
- Develop campaigns designed for complex B2B buying processes and high-value enterprise customers.
- Experiment with AI and emerging marketing tools to increase output, accelerate content development and identify new growth opportunities.
- Establish the initial marketing metrics, reporting and operating cadence needed to understand channel performance and pipeline contribution.
- Build repeatable processes that can eventually support additional marketing hires and outside resources.
What We’re Looking For
You have 3–7 years of B2B marketing experience, ideally within an early-stage SaaS or technology company.
You’ve experienced the realities of scaling a company somewhere between seed stage and Series B and understand that early-stage marketing requires considerably more than managing vendors or directing an agency.
You should bring:
- Demonstrated experience as a founding, early or highly autonomous marketer responsible for multiple growth channels.
- Experience helping build or scale a B2B SaaS growth function from 0→1.
- A portfolio of work you personally created—not simply managed—including writing samples, campaigns, case studies, newsletters, web content or social content.
- Hands-on experience running LinkedIn, Google and/or Meta advertising.
- Strong writing and storytelling skills.
- The ability to understand technical products quickly and communicate why they matter to customers.
- Strong second-order thinking: you can move beyond describing a feature to understanding the downstream operational, financial and strategic value it creates.
- Experience working alongside founders, sales teams and product/technical stakeholders.
- Comfort operating without extensive structure, established processes or a large supporting team.
- A bias toward shipping, testing, learning and improving rather than waiting for perfect information.
