Job summary

Bi-Rite Market is seeking a Market Stocker to deliver outstanding hospitality while stocking and merchandising our products. This role supports smooth store operations, meets store goals, and upholds Bi-Rite standards for quality and safety.

You will be part of a caring team that values community and service. Responsibilities include greeting guests, stocking displays, organizing merchandise, and ensuring perishable items are rotated and kept safe.

Qualifications

• Previous retail and food service experience recommended.
• Fluency in the English language, spoken and written.
• ServSafe Certification and California Food Handler card within 30 days post-hire.

Responsibilities

• Welcomes guests and assists in Market Merchandising.
• Creates attractive displays and labels; maintains neat displays.
• Receives and stocks merchandise across sales floors and backstock.
• Manages inventory rotation and handles perishables safely.
• Keeps shelves clean and maintains sample displays.
• Handles damaged or expired products to department standards.

OPPORTUNITY

The Market Stocker is responsible for creating an inspiring experience for our guests. They give outstanding hospitality by meeting and exceeding our guests’ expectations and providing excellent internal hospitality to the team. Their responsibilities include assisting in the smooth and seamless operations of the business, reaching store goals, upholding product quality and consistency standards, controlling inventory levels and mitigating waste, maintaining equipment and facilities, and safely handling all of our products and equipment. They are part of a cohesive Bi-Rite team that supports the Bi-Rite Missions, Vision, and Community Values.

Responsibilities

• Welcomes guests, provides expertise and assistance in the Market Merchandising department.
• Creates beautiful and bountiful displays. Keeps the department displays, neat, clean, accurately labeled, and receiving areas
• Receives, organizes and stocks all merchandise on the salesfloor, the refrigerated cases, backstock, and receiving areas
• Puts away inventory, paying close attention to proper rotation, handling perishable items safety, and restocking high-volume products quickly.
• Keeps the business running smoothly by keeping shelves clean by dusting and sweeping as needed, and maintaining sample displays
• Handles damaged, cut-of-date, spoils, and returned products to department standards.

Qualifications

• Previous retail and food service experience recommended.
• Fluency in the English language, spoken and written.
• ServSafe Certification, California Food Handler card is required within 30 days post-hire. Bi-Rite provides on-site paid training and certification.
• Continuous standing and carrying between 11-50+ pounds.
