Job summary

Brookshire Grocery Company is seeking a Meat Department associate to keep market and seafood cases full, rotated, and fresh. You will cut, weigh, package, and label products, while delivering friendly customer service and maintaining safety standards.

You will train with upper management, manage inventory, and support sales through accurate execution of orders, data review, and teamwork across shifts.

Qualifications

• High school Diploma or GED and one or more years of related experience; or an equivalent combination.
• Prerequisite experience as a meatcutter, apprentice, and/or manager trainee.
• Food Handler certification required.
• Manager Food Safety certification required.

Responsibilities

• Train and develop partners; schedule, plan, assign and direct work.
• Review historical data regarding sales, ads and promotions.
• Co-manage inventory to ensure satisfactory in-stock levels.
• Review profit and loss, sales, shrink and labor data with the department manager.
• Maintain sales performance, financial results and product quality.
• Check inventory on trucks; unload and ensure accuracy of inventory and paperwork.
• Cut, weigh, package and label products; use tools to create specified portions.
• Adhere to quality control and food safety standards, rotate dated products.
• Provide friendly customer service and assist customers by phone or in person.
• Maintain clean, safe and sanitary work environment per company procedures.
