Job summary

Panera Bread in the St. Louis Metro is seeking a Director, Retail Operations to translate brand objectives into cafe-level execution and develop leaders who deliver exceptional experiences to guests.

This role acts as an owner, coaching market leaders and driving loyalty with the team. The director will own the market strategy, oversee cafe management, and ensure compliance with Panera standards while collaborating across Operations, HR and business development to grow sales and profit.

Qualifications

• Firm understanding of business outcomes (sales drivers, profit drivers, reading P&L and financial reports).
• Excellent communication skills and can leverage these skills to influence others.
• Self-motivated and can plan, prioritize, schedule, and manage a market-wide calendar.
• Has the ability to build high performing teams through selection, coaching and development and has strong coaching skills to continuously develop a team of managers.
• Is motivational and can inspire teams to perform at a high level, create role clarity and hold leaders at different organization levels accountable.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
• Must have a strong work ethic, with the ability to work long and unusual hours.

Responsibilities

• Create the strategy and vision for the market to achieve execution of Panera standards for guest service and profitability.
• Coach cafe management teams for execution and accountability against standards and processes.
• Act as SME of Panera operating systems and apply them across the market.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with market and region support to drive channel execution and results.
