Job summary

South Texas Health System is seeking an senior healthcare operations executive to oversee the Freestanding Emergency Departments within the Market. You will drive policy rollout, budgeting, staff training, and strategic planning in alignment with STHS and UHS standards.

You will lead multi-site operations, ensure compliance, and foster strong communications with medical directors, physicians, EMS partners, and staff to optimize patient care and keepage across the FED network.

Qualifications

• 2) 3-5+ years of progressive management experience in acute care, preferably with oversight of an Emergency Department or FED.
• 3) Detail oriented with ability to manage multi-site operations across the market.
• 4) Knowledge of nursing practices and management within FED/hospital/outpatient settings based on evidence-based guidelines.
• 5) Strong knowledge of nursing and patient care activities.
• 6) Demonstrated supervisory and written/verbal communication skills.
• 7) Effective communication with diverse groups including physicians and staff.
• 8) Understanding budgeting/forecasting for departments and projects.
• 9) Compliance with STHS’s Code of Conduct and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee efficient operation of the Market’s Freestanding Emergency Departments.
• Develop and implement policies in coordination with STHS and UHS standards.
• Budget preparation and management for capital and operating needs.
• Staff training, hiring, retention, and performance management.
• Strategic planning to meet budgeted performance and improve keepage/leakage.
• Coordinate with EMS providers to optimize FED utilization.
