Job summary

South Texas Health System seeks a Director of FED operations to oversee its freestanding emergency departments. You will develop policies, manage budgets, train staff, and liaise with EMS and the Medical Director to ensure high-quality, compliant care across the market.

Leadership in budgeting, regulatory adherence, and cross-functional collaboration will be essential to improve keepage and meet organizational goals while maintaining service excellence.

Qualifications

• Master's degree required (MBA, MSN/MHA/MPA).
• Current Texas professional nursing license if BSN/MSN.
• 3–5+ years of progressive management in acute care or FED setting.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting and regulatory knowledge (TJC, CMS, TX).

Responsibilities

• Ensure efficient operation of freestanding emergency departments.
• Develop, implement and monitor policies, budgets and strategic plans.
• Oversee staff hiring, retention, training and performance.
• Collaborate with EMS, Medical Director and clinical leaders.
• Ensure compliance with government regulations and accreditation standards.
